Student Travel Awards

Western States Section

Student travel award applications for the 11th US National Combustion Meeting in Pasadena, CA are now open for students in the Western States Section. The deadline for applications is March 1st.

The award (up to $150 per student, assuming that sufficient funds are available) applies to students who are presenting at the meeting and are current members of the Western States Section of the Combustion Institute. Student applicants presenting oral presentations will be given priority for funding. Applicants should apply using the online form.

The requirements for receiving a travel award are:

  1. Membership in the Western States Section
  2. Presentation of a paper or poster
  3. Confirmed advisor attendance
  4. Registration as a student at your home institution
  5. Non-local (travel distance > 50 miles)

After applicants submit the online form, they should have their advisor send a confirmation via email verifying the above five points by March 1st to: Prof. Nicole Labbe (Nicole.Labbe@colorado.edu). Please include “WSSCI Student Travel Award” in the email subject line.

Eastern States Section

Financial travel support is available to student members of the ESSCI who will be delivering oral presentations at the meeting. The anticipated level of support is up to $250 per award, dependent upon number of applicants. See the information sheet for details and deadlines.

US Sections of the Combustion Institute (USSCI)

The U.S. Sections (USSCI) will provide additional support for students who will be making oral presentations at the meeting. See the information sheet for requirements and deadline. Students should use the online form to apply.
