Student Travel Awards

Student travel award applications for the WSSCI Spring 2026 Technical Meeting at the Oregon State University Portland Center are now open. The award (in the past ~$150 per student, assuming that sufficient funds are available) applies to students who are presenting at the meeting, must travel greater than 50 miles, and are current members of the Western States Section of the Combustion Institute. Please note: preference may be given to students with oral presentations and financial need, pending total student requests. The deadline for applications is 3/20/26.

Eligibility requirements:

1. Membership in the Western States Section
2. Presentation of a paper
3. Confirmed adviser attendance
4. Registration as a student at your home institution
5. Travel greater than 50 miles (as measured from the student’s home institution to the event)
